KFCB hosts Filmmakers Hangout Officials Ahead of the 6th Edition of the Filmmakers Hangout & TUFA Awards 2025
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) team, led by the Ag. CEO, Ms. Nelly Muluka, on 18th November 2025, hosted officials from the Filmmakers Hangout, led by CEO/Director Mr. Amos Cheruiyot.
They discussed areas of partnership for the upcoming 6th Edition of the Filmmakers Hangout and the inaugural Filmmakers Award (TUFA), scheduled for 6th December 2025 at the Nairobi Film Centre (NFC).
A bold initiative by Guzman Pictures and TeamShirika, in collaboration with KFCB and other partners, the Filmmakers Hangout is a dynamic celebration of creativity aimed at recognizing, showcasing, and supporting upcoming filmmakers in Kenya.
The event will bring together filmmakers, actors, producers, screenwriters, and film enthusiasts to network and collaborate. It will feature film screenings, panel discussions, exhibitions, and live entertainment, culminating in the TUFA Awards, an exciting platform that recognizes emerging talent and inspires excellence among young creatives.

The inaugural TUFA Awards come with an impressive package - cash prizes, capacity-building opportunities, and distribution and marketing of winning films on renowned platforms for monetization. A total of eight locally produced films have been nominated and will be screened during the event.
Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Muluka applauded the organizers for their commitment to recognizing, empowering, and showcasing local talent. She reaffirmed KFCB’s unwavering support for initiatives that nurture youth talent, particularly in the film sector, in alignment with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
