KFCB Conducts Capacity Building for RMS Staff under Self-Classification Framework
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has intensified its efforts to promote responsible broadcasting through its Self-Classification Framework, with training and capacity-building as part of its broader engagement strategy aimed at building partnerships with broadcasters and digital content providers to strengthen compliance and foster a safe and responsible media environment.
Speaking during the official opening of the training session for Royal Media Services (RMS) staff at the Board’s offices on June 16, 2026, KFCB Ag. CEO Ms. Nelly Muluka commended Royal Media Services for embracing the framework, noting that its implementation will play a significant role in supporting responsible content dissemination.

Ms. Muluka reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to working closely with Royal Media Services and other broadcasters to promote responsible broadcasting practices and strengthen consumer protection mechanisms in line with KFCB’s regulatory mandate, thereby safeguarding children and other vulnerable audiences from exposure to inappropriate audiovisual content.

KFCB is a State regulatory agency mandated under the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap. 222, to regulate audiovisual content in Kenya, ensuring alignment with the country’s moral values and national aspirations while protecting children and other vulnerable audiences from exposure to inappropriate content.
