The Essence of Audio-Visual Content Rating.

The Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222, of the Laws of Kenya requires existing and upcoming audio-visual content creators, distributors and exhibitors to submit their content to the Kenya Film Classification Board for examination and rating.

Film and broadcast content classified by KFCB is rated as GE (General Exhibition), PG (Parental Guidance Recommended),16 (Not suitable for persons under 16 years) and 18 (suitable for persons aged 18 years and above).

The Essence of Audio-Visual Content Rating.

The essence of content classification is to ensure that content conforms to Kenya’s culture, moral values, National aspirations and to protect children from exposure to inappropriate content. 

The KFCB is a regulatory State Corporation in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports.
